A California native, Anderson's chameleonic portrayals have spanned to include Don Quixote, Ophelia, Richard Nixon, and Dr. Frank N. Furter.
Eric moved to New York in 2008, where he made his Broadway debut as Stewpot in the Tony award-winning revival of SOUTH PACIFIC at Lincoln Center. Recently, he was in the original Broadway casts of both the Tony award-winning best musical, KINKY BOOTS, and SOUL DOCTOR, where he received critical acclaim for his work in the title role of Shlomo Carlebach. He will be featured as Mr. Gazzo next in the Broadway premiere of ROCKY at the Winter Garden.
Anderson was nominated for a 2013 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical. He won the inaugural Joel Hirschhorn award for outstanding achievement in musical theatre, awarded by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, two San Diego Critics Circle Craig Noel Awards and multiple Backstage West Garlands.
Guest roles on television include: The Good Wife, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Alias. Eric is a member of the Troubadour Theater Company and the lead singer of the Shel Silverstein tribute band, The Freakers Ball.
